It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our firm’s longtime financial advisor and friend Eldon Laidig.
Eldon joined PBS Wealth Management Consultants in 1988. During his lifetime, he spent almost four years on active duty with the U.S. Coast Guard and 42 years with the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve where he retired as a Captain. A natural born leader, he worked for 27 years for Jefferson County Public Schools, 25 of those as a junior high school principal.
Never one to sit idle, he contacted our firm’s founder Roger Johnson (who was his then financial advisor) about coming to work for PBS Wealth Management Consultants. He wanted to provide financial guidance to clients while incorporating his passion for educating and helping others.
During his time here, Eldon brought a down to earth approach to clients based on his life experiences as a serviceman and educator. He showed genuine respect, care and love for each of his clients and for our staff.
A lifelong philanthropist, Eldon was dedicated to the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities, Arvada Sister Cities International, Highlanders Denver, Arvada Rotary, Friendship Force of Greater Denver and Bessie’s Hope, to name a few. He believed civic pride and giving back to others was of utmost importance, and encouraged each of us to achieve meaningful levels of community service.
We will miss Eldon, and will work to carry his legacy for helping others forward in our practice and in our lives.
